Meet The Team

Rachel Bernier-Green, MST 

CEO & Founder

Rachel Bernier-Green is the visionary founder and CEO of EJ Consortium, established in 2023 to deliver tailored consulting services for small and medium-sized purpose-driven businesses. With over 15 years of experience across finance, strategy, and operations in diverse industries, Rachel brings exceptional expertise in financial management, process optimization, and organizational development. She began her career working for globally recognized firms such as PricewaterhouseCoopers, State Farm, and KPMG.

Her entrepreneurial journey began with 'Laine's Bake Shop LLC (2013-2022), a mission-driven social enterprise that successfully scaled to place products in Whole Foods stores throughout the Midwest and in Starbucks locations. At 'Laine's, she demonstrated her commitment to economic justice by hiring up to 60% of staff from marginalized populations, including formerly incarcerated individuals, achieving zero recidivism among team members.

Rachel holds a Master of Science in Tax and dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Finance and Accounting from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. As an alumni of the prestigious Hoeft Technology and Management Program, she has further enhanced her expertise through the Kellogg School of Management's Ascend VII Advanced Management Education Program, earning certifications as a Certified CFO Advisor and Certified Profit First Professional.

Currently, Rachel serves on the Small Business Majority's National Small Business Advocacy Council and Illinois Small Business Equity Council, as well as the Steering Committee & Strategic Planning Core Team for the Artisan Grain Collaborative.
